Applique

Sleepy Fish is also about beautiful freehand  applique and embroidery.

Silk is first hand painted, then original designs and motifs are applied.

For example, silk roses and silk velvet leaves sewn in profusion onto a floral painted raw silk background. Sparkles, crystals and light catchers suggest the play of light on water.  Abstract shapes and designs all add a three dimensional beauty to the painted  silk.

Original applique and embroidery can be applied as a finishing touch to a garment, wrap or shawl.  Sleepy Fish also creates Original works;  landscapes or abstracts heavily beaded, embroidered and appliqued, which can be stretched and framed.
